Supply Chain Crisis Effects On ServerLIFT® Products

The port delays and supply chain disruptions of the last couple of years had extended lead times for ServerLIFT® products (and many others) well beyond normal levels. Finally, those issues are starting to ease up which means we have been shipping out many more orders in shorter periods of time. While we’re not all the way back to pre-Covid lead times yet, our production crew and shipping carriers have been working overtime to help get orders fulfilled. It’s when times are toughest that it’s more important than ever for us, our suppliers, and carriers to continue providing the same exceptional customer service we strive for everyday.
Keeping Clients Happy With Our Global Data Center Solutions

Because we ship our safety-certified data center lifts across the globe, they’ve always been designed so they can be used in any data center anywhere in the world. When someone in South Asia inquired about upgrading their data center operations with a ServerLIFT® solution, it reminded us that not everyone is used to product universality. They were concerned that the lift wouldn’t be compatible with their local power supply. They were pleasantly surprised to learn that this was one international purchase they could make—without worry.
Experts In Data Center Lift Service & Repair

Because data center lifts are mission-critical safety tools that are operational necessities, whenever a call comes in for service or repair, it’s our highest priority to get them fixed quickly. When a local data center called because six of their lifts were left outdoors, rusted and in disrepair, we dispatched one of our in-house production techs that day. Thankfully, they were able to fix a few of them onsite and we brought back the rest to our facility for a quick overhaul and redeployment.
Safe Data Center Lift Options For Employee Wellness

One of our newer customers already has experience using our product, after working at a previous company that had our lifts in their data center. He is now managing a growing number of rack-mounted IT equipment, and he also has a bad back. So of course, he’s pitching our product to his new boss so he can have the same safe lifting solution that he used to have. We hope his boss agrees. If you’re hoping to eliminate those achy backs while moving large equipment in your data center, check out our line of lifts, all designed exclusively for data center use.
Audit Prep

The turning of the calendar to a new year is always an exciting and busy time at ServerLIFT®. Besides the renewed focus of our mission, and the energy boost we get from spending holiday time with family and friends, we are also preparing for our ISO:9001 and ISO:14001 surveillance audit. This is always a great way to look at our Quality Management System with fresh eyes and involve our entire team on delivering end-to-end quality, value, and continuous improvement for our clients throughout the year. We can’t wait for what’s to come. We hope the same for you.
Pain In The Back

So sad. We got an email from a technician who used to work alone in a data center, moving big servers, including those manufactured by Sun and NetApp. “I needed a ServerLIFT® data center lift 10 years ago, and I have the back pain to prove it,” he told us. He tried. “I fought hard for it, I ticked off a lot of managers about it, but they never gave in,” he lamented. Every now and again, we hear from hard working folks like him, whose managers don’t realize the danger—and pain—truly involved in data center operational logistics. They don’t blink at spending millions per year to run the facility, […]
Back Breaking

A customer is considering purchasing an SL-350X lift with a GT-1000X bi-directional glide table, and possibly an RS-500X rail lift. They have been struggling with old legacy Chatsworth racks in their data center. It takes two to three people to uninstall this legacy equipment. The equipment (mostly Cisco switches) is very heavy and the racks have a lot of j-shape drop-in rails. Because about a third of their data center contains old equipment like this, their IT guys don’t want to keep breaking their backs doing this by hand. After purchasing and using this lift, they will free up 30% of their data center real estate, which is real value […]
Heavy Lifting

This was a new one . . . an IT Systems Integrator called and asked for the lightest lift that we have available, because they need to get the lift up to the 2nd floor – where the data center will be located. This is a unique use case, as it’s rare for the data center to be on the second floor, and the elevator won’t be running until the data center is fully operational. They want to use the lift to populate the new cabinets as they get the new data center up and running. We have provided them with quotes, but are still working with them on ways […]
Halloween Story

Ouch! A customer purchased a lift—not one of ours—10 years ago. It was their go-to lift until it recently failed, got bound up, and almost claimed the finger of an engineer! Now no one trusts it, obviously, and they are actually scared of using this lift. After this incident, they decided to purchase an SL-350X lift from us and they LOVE it! The only plus to the older lift is that it fit underneath the cabinets that they have to move. So we have sent them information on our PL-500X Platform Extension attachment to see if they can use this to move the cabinets. And, they are also interested in […]
I Want To Keep This!

We rented a lift to a customer for a week. They were so happy with it they are trying to get management to approve them to purchase the lift rather than returning it. This happens a lot, and it’s always great when it does. If this happens to you, here’s an article that will help you find a place for that special lift on your own budget. And, we just got word that they ARE purchasing the lift, and a reusable crate! Yay.
