ServerLIFT® News | August 2023

As students start heading back to school, we wonder how many are getting degrees that will lead to careers in data center management and operations. It’s a valid question in light of data center staffing shortages. We’ll also discuss a unique data center solution for the military and how the crates we ship our data center lifts in can be reused. 1. Higher Ed is Key to Easing Data Center Staffing Shortages Finding qualified data center workers is challenging. Community colleges and four-year colleges are slowly implementing data center curriculums into their degree programs. 2. Military Data Center Needs Are Unique AWS has developed ready-to-deploy modular data centers so they […]

Data center managers enjoy the use of our data center lifts, all over the world. Which is why our site can be read in 23 different languages! All of this is our way of making sure that every customer has a positive experience with our lifts. That’s our goal!

Crate Sensors Ensure Your New Lift Arrives Safely

ServerLIFT Tip n Tell

ServerLIFT® data center lifts come in a big, custom-made, sturdy box. That’s one way we make sure your new lift arrives in great condition. But we go a step further:  we place Tip N’ Tell indicators on the cartons and crates, which will activate if goods are tipped or dropped on their side. When the lift arrives, the consignee or receiving agent inspects the indicators, and notes if there are any active indicators (along with any other visible damage to the carton, of course). Our customers tell us they are so glad when their ServerLIFT® data center lift arrives, no more manual lifting or struggling with a “warehouse” lift! These […]

ServerLIFT® News | July 2023

The dog days of a record-breaking summer are upon us! We hope you’re in a cool place when this newsletter reaches you. Our topics this month include how AI could impact data center cybersecurity, an interesting military data center, our customer service model, and data center safety. Enjoy! 1. Could AI Negatively Impact Data Center Cybersecurity? The hype around AI is intense. It may prove to be valuable in some situations, but it may also enable bad actors to more easily compromise data center cybersecurity. Data centers will need to meet this challenge head-on. 2. The Entire Military Depends on a Relatively Unknown Air Force Data Center Strategy, weapons, and […]

What Does It Mean When A Lift Is “Designed Exclusively For Data Centers”?

データセンターのリフト

Well, you start where you should start: by interviewing data center managers. You then design and build a machine whose size, functions, and ergonomics are perfect for data centers. How the machine moves, stays in place, is safe for the operator, makes it easy to remove, transport, and install with precision, and navigates today’s packed data centers. Then, as the years go by, you continue to listen to data center managers, finding out what their challenges are and figuring out how you can best meet them. Not just for the machines themselves, but their preferred buying process, shipping methods, and servicing options, and new accessories that will make things easier.

Who Can Help You Get The Right Data Center Lift?

データセンターの伸び

A while back, we decided that we would take a different approach to “sales.” We put some of our best customer service people on the phones instead of “salespeople.” Their goal was simply to make it easier for our customers to buy, or even help them if ServerLIFT® wasn’t the perfect solution for them. We were so happy with the result. Revenue shot up, not only because we were helping the customers get exactly what they needed, but because their input helped us improve what we were doing. Our buyback and ability to service all types of data center lifts all came from this effort. It was a win-win for […]

Who Cares About Safety?

データセンターの安全

Everybody cares about safety, after one of your data center workers sustains an injury trying to lift a 300-pound server into a rack. And they definitely care about safety when that injury is accompanied by the worker dropping that expensive server because there was no data-center-specific lift available to remove, transport, and install that server. One drop can be very expensive, for the poor worker, the dinged up server, and the data center’s reputation.

It’s summertime and the livin’ is easy . . . unless you’re a data center manager. While many industries slow down enough in the summer for vacations and spending a little less time working, the data center industry does not. Well, since you’re working, here’s some news you can use.  1. Data Center Trends to Watch for the Rest of 2023 AI, virtualization, security, and job growth are among the trends that will continue to impact data centers for the remainder of 2023. 2. How the End of Moore’s Law Affects Data Centers The ability to physically increase CPU capacity is decreasing. That’s good news for data centers, because demand […]
