On occasion our Client Experience team is asked “How long do your data center lift batteries typically last”? The answer is that under ideal conditions our standard, deep-cycle batteries last three to five years. When maintained according to our instructions, they have been known to last up to a decade. Batteries that are allowed to get very low before being recharged will not last as long and, in some cases, may fail to recharge, necessitating the purchase of a new battery.
How Often Should I Charge My Data Center Lift?
Customers often ask our Client Experience team “How often should I charge my lift”? The answer is that to maximize the life of the battery, we recommend keeping the data center lift plugged in and charging when not in use for extended periods. Keeping it unplugged for extended periods will drain and reduce the capacity of the battery.

Ok, well maybe not a road trip, but we are flying two of our Service Specialists out to a customer’s site in Kentucky to repair some of their lifts. We’ve been to this customer’s site several times for basic repairs, and we discussed training their staff to perform these types of repairs to save money on service calls.
