At ServerLIFT, we prioritize two things when we develop our server handling devices and extensions: Keeping your workers safe and keeping your equipment safe.
One of the trickiest moments during the installation of new equipment occurs when it’s being unpacked. You may have a data center lift waiting nearby, equipped with safety straps, brakes, and all the other features you need to prevent dangerous and costly accidents. But how are your workers actually supposed to get the server out of the box and onto the lifting platform?
Unpacking boxes manually means that at least two people have to lift the edges of the equipment while someone else slides the box and packing material out of the way. You can have your data center lift nearby, but manually unpacking IT equipment could injure backs and more, and damage the equipment before it’s fully unboxed.
Even hyperscale data centers often lack a solution for this problem. When we’ve toured facilities, we have seen workers on the floor, bent over, hauling heavy IT equipment out of boxes. This was not out of negligence, but simply because they had no other choice. The equipment isn’t going to unpack itself.
Consider that some modern servers weigh up to 500 pounds (227 kg), and workers may have to unpack several pieces of IT equipment at a time. There’s a lot of room for fatigue, accidents, and injuries to occur. Environmental health and safety (EHS) officers know it’s an issue, but until now, it’s one nobody has been able to solve.
That’s why we developed the LE-500X™ Lift Extension to help you unpack heavy IT equipment effortlessly (and safely!) from boxes and pallets.

Not only will this extension save your employees’ backs and protect your delicate IT equipment during the precarious unboxing process, it will also preserve the original packaging in case you need to repack and move or return your items.
The LE-500X™ Lift Extension is compatible with the SL-350X® e il SL-500X® data center lifts. The LE-1000X™ Lift Extension is compatible with the SL-1000X® data center lift.
We’re dedicated to helping you learn how to optimize your ServerLIFT data center lift functionality and keep your workers and equipment safe.
