We strive to anticipate modern data center needs when we are designing our lifts and attachments. When we heard that some data center employees were unsure how to move some of today’s larger and heavier AI-dedicated servers, we decided to drill down in our blog on the attachments for our lifts, including the WS-3X Wide Shelf attachment.
The WS-3X™ fits onto all of our ServerLIFT data center lifts and extends the shelf surface area to a generous 30 inches (76.2 cm) wide. This should be enough to support most servers across the entire width, so you never have to worry about overhang, imbalanced loads, or putting too much weight on non-load-bearing components.
This attachment is especially valuable when you have to perform installations in very high or low rack slots. The biggest servers on the market are also some of the heaviest, which means you don’t want your workers bending over or stretching high and trying to hoist massive, wobbly loads.
Each of our wide shelf attachments (see also our WS-1X™ și WS-2X™ shelves for slightly smaller load sizes) bolt easily onto the frame of your existing ServerLIFT data center lift. This means you can put it on when a job necessitates a wide shelf, and then take it off so you don’t have to maneuver a large shelf through tight aisleways during everyday tasks when you don’t need the extra platform space.
On our powered lifts, the WS-3X™ supports up to 500 pounds (227 kg) in the center of the plate and up to 300 pounds (136 kg) at the edge. On the SL-350X®, it will support up to 350 pounds (158.76 kg) in the center of the plate. You’ll be able to slide heavy servers, switches, and other IT equipment right from the loading shelf onto the rack (or vice versa) and know that your people and investment are fully protected.
