ServerLIFT® News | May 2025

AI has changed and will continue to change data centers significantly. Innovative solutions to support AI have become imperative. Utilities providers are also making adjustments to meet the reality of how many data centers are actually built. We discuss these topics and more in this month’s newsletter.

1. 5 Ways Data Centers Are Changing Because of AI

AI is driving data centers to adopt high-density power and advanced cooling systems, such as liquid and immersion cooling, to support energy-intensive AI workloads. Facilities are integrating specialized hardware such as GPUs and TPUs, enhancing computational efficiency, and enabling faster AI processing. This transformation positions data centers to meet the growing demands of AI-driven applications.

2. Utilities Providers Align Service With Actual Data Center Builds

US utilities are inundated with speculative data center proposals—often five to ten times more than will actually be built—making it difficult to plan infrastructure and allocate resources effectively. To mitigate risks, utilities are implementing measures such as requiring larger upfront financial commitments from developers and seeking regulatory support to ensure that only viable projects proceed. These steps aim to protect existing customers from unnecessary costs and prevent overbuilding the grid.

3. John Spillane: New ServerLIFT CEO

ServerLIFT announces a leadership transition. On April 28, 2025, founder Ray Zuckerman stepped down as CEO and appointed seasoned executive John Spillane to take the helm. Zuckerman will continue to guide the company as Chairman of the Board, ensuring continuity as ServerLIFT continues its healthy growth under Spillane’s leadership.

4. New Website Support Materials Page

In our continued quest to respond to customer feedback, we have redesigned this page so that when you select a lift, you’ll be able to see all the supporting documentation and compatible accessories for that lift. By providing all this information in one place, you have everything you need to decide which lift you think will work best for your data center.

Purpose-built lifts. ServerLIFT data center lifts are purposefully built for data centers. Not only do they provide safe transport and installation for expensive IT equipment, but they also provide a safe work environment for data center staff. Does your data center need that? Neem contact met ons op online or call us at (602) 254-1557.

Blijf Veilig,

John Spillane, CEO
