Como tantas coisas como certas, os data centers t\u00eam um lado que poucas pessoas conhecem. A vis\u00e3o da IBM sobre o gerenciamento e a infraestrutura do data center parece interessante, intrigante e talvez at\u00e9 absurda.<\/p>\n

Design do Data Center<\/h2>\n

Segundo a IBM, cerca de 80% de data centers foram criados antes da era das pontocom. Com quase tr\u00eas quartos do n\u00famero de data centers constru\u00eddos antes de 1985, eles precisam ser reconstru\u00eddos. Isso afeta os deveres dos respons\u00e1veis pela design do data center<\/a> e gerenciamento de data center hoje.<\/p>\n

Trabalhos perdidos e pre\u00e7os de a\u00e7\u00f5es em queda n\u00e3o s\u00e3o efeitos incomuns da falha em manter os data centers funcionando em temperaturas ideais. O Hot n\u00e3o afeta apenas o desempenho do servidor, mas tamb\u00e9m levanta preocupa\u00e7\u00f5es de seguran\u00e7a.
\nA IBM alega que mais de 50% de energia injetada em um data center \u00e9 usada para resfriamento. A computa\u00e7\u00e3o real recebe apenas cerca de 3%! Esses n\u00fameros incr\u00edveis destacam o qu\u00e3o importante e delicado \u00e9 o problema de manter o ambiente ideal do data center.<\/p>\n

<\/h3>\n

Em uma situa\u00e7\u00e3o ociosa\u2026<\/h3>\n

O que seu chefe diria se voc\u00ea ficasse sem fazer nada por 7 horas fora do seu turno de 8 horas? Ficar ocioso n\u00e3o \u00e9 para pessoas, mas para centros de dados, aparentemente. Em ambientes de computa\u00e7\u00e3o distribu\u00edda, at\u00e9 85% de capacidade de computa\u00e7\u00e3o pode ficar ocioso. Isso se traduz em desperdi\u00e7ar cerca de $40 bilh\u00f5es em cadeia de suprimentos. Gerenciamento de data center n\u00e3o muito eficiente.
