CE<\/span><\/a> is een certificering die specifiek van toepassing is op <\/span>producten verkocht in de Europese Economische Ruimte (EER<\/span><\/a>) en maakt het mogelijk om die producten vrij te verkopen in alle EU-landen. In sommige gevallen is dit een harde vereiste.<\/span><\/p>\n

Als er richtlijnen zijn die van toepassing zijn op een bepaald product, dan is dat product wettelijk verplicht om CE-conform te zijn om het in de EER te verkopen. Daarom is de CE-markering een absolute must-have voor datacenterliften.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

De Safety of Machinery-richtlijn is van toepassing op alle soorten apparaten die zouden worden gebruikt voor het afhandelen van servers, of ze zich nu in een datacenter bevinden of niet. Voor elektrische of gemotoriseerde liften is naleving van de CE-richtlijnen voor elektromagnetische compatibiliteit (EMC) en laagspanningsapparatuur van cruciaal belang om de veiligheid en bescherming van de operator, de lift en de omliggende serverruimte-apparatuur in elk datacenter te waarborgen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Voldoen aan of overtreffen van de eisen van deze standaard heeft veel meer praktische voordelen dan alleen een paspoort zijn voor het kopen van de lift voor gebruik in de EER. Het maakt niet uit waar een datacenter zich bevindt, een lift met CE-markering is een indicatie dat het een haalbare optie is voor gebruik in dat datacenter. Het betekent dat de lift is beoordeeld om te voldoen aan een zeer hoge standaard voor mechanische en elektromagnetische veiligheid.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Het hele doel van het gebruik van een lift in een datacenter is het verbeteren van de veiligheid en effici\u00ebntie van de dagelijkse werkzaamheden. Het handmatig verplaatsen, tillen en ondersteunen van zware en \/ of dure serverapparatuur is immers uiterst riskant en gevaarlijk. Het laatste dat iemand zou willen doen, is dat probleem oplossen met een apparaat dat onveilig is. Een lift die vol zit met knelpunten, onstabiel is tijdens het laden of die elektromagnetisch de dure en gevoelige apparatuur verstoort of beschadigt die het moet helpen installeren, zou nooit de CE-markering behalen.<\/span><\/p>\n
