Let\u2019s talk about the elephant in the room for a moment. Today\u2019s servers, especially the ones developed to handle AI applications, are <\/span>massive. <\/span><\/i>ServerLIFT data center lifts are designed for maneuverability within tight spaces rather than for size.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In most data centers, we expect our users to be moving delicate, heavy equipment up and down narrow aisles filled with racks upon racks of even more expensive equipment. We\u2019ve designed each data center lift to be bottom-heavy to prevent tipping, turn corners tightly, and stop immediately with our new fine-adjust pendant.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These features have proven to be good design choices, since they prevent innumerable costly and dangerous mishaps. If you\u2019ve ever had a nightmare about racks of servers toppling over like dominoes, you understand why our data center lifts were purpose-built with these priorities in mind.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, what if you\u2019re expanding your AI support and you need to install a server or another piece of IT equipment that\u2019s up to 40 inches long? The last thing you want is for your new and <\/span>expensive <\/span><\/i>server to overhang the lifting platform and get unbalanced when you hit a bump in the floor or knock into a door frame.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If your servers seem to be outgrowing the available lifting platforms, we recommend our <\/span>WS-2X\u2122 21″ Wide Shelf<\/span><\/a> accessory. This is a step up from the <\/span>WS-1X\u2122 17″ Wide Shelf<\/span><\/a> attachment, which already provided a greatly expanded lifting surface for larger loads.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The WS-2X\u2122 21″ Wide Shelf is a 21-inch plate that bolts onto all of our ServerLIFT data center lift models. There\u2019s no need to buy a whole new model just to install larger items. You can stick with what you already know.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This shelf can support up to 500 lbs (227 kg) in the center of the platform and up to 300 lbs (136 kg) at the extended edge, so you can feel safe knowing your cutting-edge AI servers will be safe and sound during installations and moves.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The WS-2X\u2122 Wide Shelf is compatible with the <\/span>SL-350X<\/span>\u00ae<\/span><\/a> data center lift, the <\/span>SL-500X<\/span>\u00ae<\/span><\/a> data center lift, and the <\/span>SL-1000X<\/span>\u00ae<\/span><\/a> data center lift.<\/span><\/p>\n
