Apr\u00e8s 20 ans dans l&#039;industrie de la technologie, elle voit beaucoup de place pour plus de femmes dans les postes d&#039;entr\u00e9e et de leadership. \u00abJe suis d\u00e9\u00e7ue qu&#039;il n&#039;y ait pas plus de femmes dans les technologies\u00bb, admet-elle. \u00abJe pense que l&#039;industrie a besoin de la vari\u00e9t\u00e9 des hommes et des femmes.\u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Il existe deux voies principales pour y parvenir:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1. \u00c9liminer tout obstacle emp\u00eachant les femmes de faire ce travail, et\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2. Le laboratoire d&#039;int\u00e9gration de Turner n&#039;est pas un centre de donn\u00e9es, mais ils construisent en moyenne 280 racks par an pour les centres de donn\u00e9es du monde entier. \u00abNous faisons beaucoup de travail physique en laboratoire, mais la partie difficile est de mettre les serveurs dans les racks. Gardez \u00e0 l&#039;esprit que les racks que nous construisons sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement un rack 48U, de 7 \u00e0 8 pieds de hauteur. Ce n&#039;est pas seulement les serveurs en bas ou les serveurs au milieu \u00bb, note Turner.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dans un <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/serverlift.com\/fr\/blog\/women-in-the-data-center\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">post pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, nous avons not\u00e9 que le poids de levage maximum recommand\u00e9 pour les hommes et les femmes de l&#039;OSHA, du NIOSH et du CDC est le m\u00eame: 51 livres. C&#039;est plus qu&#039;une assistance physique de levage ad\u00e9quate. \u00abC&#039;est juste une question de travail physique. Vous vous d\u00e9placez toujours, construisant des trucs toute la journ\u00e9e, mais avec un ascenseur de centre de donn\u00e9es motoris\u00e9, cela enl\u00e8ve la partie difficile. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Int\u00e9resser les femmes aux emplois dans les technologies et les centres de donn\u00e9es<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Avec les restrictions physiques surmont\u00e9es, qu&#039;est-ce qui emp\u00eache les femmes de d\u00e9velopper un int\u00e9r\u00eat et de postuler pour une carri\u00e8re pratique dans le monde de la technologie? Dans les dizaines de candidatures examin\u00e9es par Turner, les candidatures f\u00e9minines sont rares. \u00abJe pense que l&#039;obstacle est m\u00eame de les amener \u00e0 la table; pour les amener \u00e0 s\u2019int\u00e9resser \u00e0 ce type de travail. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elle recommande d&#039;am\u00e9liorer la sensibilisation au niveau coll\u00e9gial, en disant que les opportunit\u00e9s de stages et de mentorat devraient \u00eatre r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es aux femmes, afin qu&#039;elles sachent que les emplois dans les centres de donn\u00e9es sont r\u00e9alisables et offrent des opportunit\u00e9s de croissance. \u00c0 noter: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">presque toutes les universit\u00e9s et coll\u00e8ges ont leurs propres centres de donn\u00e9es (parfois partiellement g\u00e9r\u00e9s par des \u00e9tudiants). Les \u00e9tudiants ont toujours la possibilit\u00e9 de d\u00e9couvrir l&#039;industrie pendant qu&#039;ils sont encore au coll\u00e8ge en s&#039;impliquant dans leur campus DC.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La sensibilisation est un facteur crucial pour amener les femmes dans le centre de donn\u00e9es. Neira Hajro, associ\u00e9e chez McKinsey Digital, est d&#039;accord. Elle dit <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00c9conomie des donn\u00e9es<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: &quot;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reconnaissons que nous avons tous besoin de sponsors. Avoir une base de soutien solide permettra \u00e0 chacun d&#039;entre nous de s&#039;\u00e9panouir sur le lieu de travail si nos comp\u00e9tences et contributions sont reconnues et valoris\u00e9es. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Une partie du probl\u00e8me est la nature hautement s\u00e9curis\u00e9e et discr\u00e8te des op\u00e9rations du centre de donn\u00e9es. Faire conna\u00eetre l&#039;industrie plus largement au grand public peut faire une grande diff\u00e9rence. \u00abLes femmes en technologie peuvent avoir les m\u00eames comp\u00e9tences, connaissances et connaissances que les hommes pour faire ce travail\u00bb, explique Turner. Kristin Zhivago, un v\u00e9t\u00e9ran de la Silicon Valley qui a travaill\u00e9 dans la technologie pendant plus de 40 ans, a constat\u00e9 que la comp\u00e9tence est accept\u00e9e \u00e9galement par tout travailleur, homme ou femme. \u00abIl s&#039;agit de bien faire son travail et de ne pas faire tr\u00e8s attention aux diff\u00e9rences. Les hommes et les femmes doivent gagner le respect, et la meilleure fa\u00e7on de le faire est de prendre le travail au s\u00e9rieux et d&#039;apprendre en continu. \u00bb\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Une fois qu&#039;une femme a les outils et la possibilit\u00e9 de faire un travail traditionnellement masculin, favoriser la croissance est la prochaine \u00e9tape. Jennifer Curry, SVP INAP de Global Cloud Services, est d&#039;accord; elle dit <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dynamique du centre de donn\u00e9es<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> que les entreprises font de leur mieux lorsqu&#039;elles donnent toutes deux une place aux femmes \u00e0 la table et favorisent ensuite activement leur d\u00e9veloppement. Bien entendu, c&#039;est \u00e9galement la responsabilit\u00e9 de la femme impliqu\u00e9e. Les femmes que nous connaissons en technologie ont tendance \u00e0 prendre cette responsabilit\u00e9 au s\u00e9rieux.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Quelques bonnes nouvelles: Melinda Gates a r\u00e9cemment annonc\u00e9 une <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">$50 millions de lecteur<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> inviter les femmes \u00e0 des postes technologiques, en am\u00e9liorant la sensibilisation universitaire et le financement communautaire.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">M\u00eame les entreprises signalant la diversit\u00e9 des sexes voient encore des femmes r\u00e9clamer moins de <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/chart\/4467\/female-employees-at-tech-companies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 sur 4<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> r\u00f4les techniques.
